What is Nickel Allergy
Contact dermatitis can be caused by allergic reactions to metal, with nickel allergy being the most common metal allergy related to ear-piercing and wearing earrings. When earrings containing nickel come into contact with a piercing, nickel is naturally absorbed through the skin and can sometimes cause eczema. The most obvious reaction is undue irritation and scaling of the skin in the piercing. A nickel allergy may sometimes become a chronic condition.
